Loup Loup Ski Patrols Beginnings
,
Little Buck Mountain has been the home for the Loup Loup ski hill and its Patrollers since 1958. Although, before 1958 the ski resort was south of Hwy 20 with a single rope tow. While limited documentation has lasted 70 years, patrollers believe Loup Loup first became a branch of the National Ski Patrol around 1948. |
For forty years the hill was served by a rope tow and platter ski lift (Poma) up to the top of the hill. In 1998 the hill bought a quad chair and installed it to grant more people access to the terrain. 2007 brought along another major construction project, the new patrol hut at the summit.

Loup Loup Ski Patrol has been a family hobby for many years. Seventy years of history and skiing at the Loup has allowed the patrol to have second generation patrollers. Parents on the Loup Loup Ski Patrol who raised their kids at the hill have seen some of the return and continue their legacy at the hill ensuring another generation can grow up skiing at the Loup.
